YUCK. Although some civilizations find that eating cockroaches is fine dining, it's hard to imagine any value that cockroaches provide to mankind. Cockroaches are the most common insect pest that will infest homes and restaurants at profound rates. They are repulsive by their sheer presence and disgustingly nasty. They spread disease and carry bacteria organisms that can cause food poisoning. Cockroaches will contaminate every place they touch and are sources of allergy. Why would anyone want a roach anywhere yet alone in the home, restaurants where you eat or places people stay.

Roaches Are Prolific Breeders

Cockroaches have existing from the beginning of time. Tens of Millions upon tens of millions of years. It goes to show you how hardy and resilient roaches are. They are impossible to eradicate. Roaches multiply at exponential rates. A roach egg capsule can carry 60-200 eggs. In an average one-year lifespan as an adult, the female cockroach can produce up to 8 egg sacs. Development of a roach from egg to an adult only takes 3 to 4 months on average. In some species of roaches, a female only needs to be impregnated once a lifetime to continually produce offspring.

Roaches Can Never Be Eliminated

Cockroaches can only be controlled via extermination, repelling them, maintaining cleanliness and establishing barriers that help lock them outside. When they get into homes, restaurants and other structures, it is very difficult to control them. Any treatments performed, whether by professional pest control experts or by do-it-yourself tactics, treatment must be applied with regularity.

How Roaches Infest Homes

Cockroaches flourish where there is food and moisture. They are usually nocturnal and begin hunting food at night when people are sleeping. Unlike some insect pests, they are prevalent all year-long. Cockroaches make there way into homes in several ways. They are unknowingly transported or make their way indoors through cracks, crevices and other entry points.

Roaches will setup permanent homes near food and filth residue. They prefer dark, damp areas where they feel safe. Floor drains, crawl spaces, underneath sinks, at the bottom of cabinets, utility closets, basements, behind baseboards, wall voids and anywhere that gives them a quick retreat. Roaches cluster in communal groups.

Types of Cockroaches

There are many species of cockroaches around the world but there are three popular species that will infest homes and establishments. They include American, German, and Oriental cockroaches. Each type are of different sizes ranging from the size of a finger nail to several inches long. They have slightly varying characteristics but does it really matter? They are all nasty, carry disease and leave trails of feces wherever they go. Roaches are beyond being a pest. They are a health risk to humans.

Why Roaches Must Be Eliminated

Very simple. There is nothing good about a cockroach. They add nothing of value. Only problems and filth. They carry bacteria and viruses. They spread disease. Cockroaches create chemical trails in their feces. They attract other roaches by emitting airborne pheromones that attract other roaches and send mating signals. Their chemical trails carry and distribute bacteria every place they touch.

They are a health risk in every respect. They cause disease. Bubonic plaque, typhoid, poliomyelitis and even leprosy. Although roaches can never be completely eliminated, we all must do what we can to eliminate as many as possible.
